Military Helicopter Asia- Event Rationale:
Changing requirements of regional defence forces have led to developments in the Asian helicopter market. Whilst attack capabilities still remain the core interest of most Asian militaries, budgetary and current operational needs have led to platform and payload upgrades.
With Asia undergoing rapid modernisation, there are questions on matching requirements with capabilities, payload integration and understanding which solutions fit specific regional requirements. Be it combat, utility, logistics and operational support, there is no denying that rotorcrafts are essential for Asian defence forces.
Moving forward from 2010, Military Helicopter Asia 2011 will bring together more case studies from helicopter operators, Asia specific technology updates from both defence and industry and will move to establish the conference as a brand in itself in the Asia Pacific arena. Highlights of the agenda include sessions on pilot training from German Army, presenting the ‘Buckeburg’ concept, Royal Malaysian Air Force giving the Asian perspective on training and new perspectives from New Zealand, Indonesia, Republic of Korea and India.
The conference topics were wide enough to provide a good oversight of the military helicopter developments in Asia
